This wholesale silk kumihimo cord is a traditional Japanese round braid known as Kara-uchi-himo, made using 16 strands on traditional braiding equipment in Japan.

Crafted from 100% high-quality silk, the cord has a smooth, glossy finish with no surface fluff. The centre of the braid is hollow, giving it a soft, flexible feel while maintaining strength and structure.

Originally used in Japan for tying ornaments and garments for temples, shrines, and traditional costumes, this type of kumihimo is now widely valued for jewellery making and high-end craft projects.
