Finely braided 2mm Japanese silk cord with historic herringbone pattern from the Shōsōin Treasures. Ideal for jewellery & crafts.

✦ Overview
This is a delicately braided kumihimo cord, constructed using the Nara-gumi technique—a historic braiding method faithfully recreated from patterns found in the Imperial Shōsōin Treasures.
The compact 2mm round profile (actual size: approx. 1.8–1.9mm) and fine texture make it ideal for use in jewellery, incense pouches, or traditional crafts.

The cord features a beautiful sugiaya (herringbone) pattern that flows diagonally along the braid. The subtle sheen of silk and the timeless pattern create an elegant and classical impression, even when paired with minimal findings.

Each colourway is inspired by Japanese heritage aesthetics—from deep plum and wisteria to ivory, vermilion, and indigo—and is registered as a variation.
