_About Round Stand_
A round stand has an upper board, legs, and a lower commission.
A string wound around a ball is pulled out through a hole in the upper board, and the assembled string is lowered to the bottom. It is the smallest of all kumihimo tools. Still, except for a few that are assembled on a high stand, it is a versatile stand that you can use for almost all types of kumihimo, from simple elementary strings to very complicated ones such as karakumi.
The top surface of the round stand is called the “mirror.”
Because the braided cord reflects the mind of the braider,
Kumi-himo is a spiritual practice that leads to Zen.
