About design
Original pattern based on hand-dyed shibori samples.
This furoshiki bandana features a soft, organic design inspired by the irregular beauty of traditional Japanese shibori.
Important Sizing & Use Information
This bandana is available in three sizes, each designed for different uses.
The Small size is intended for compact, accent, and styling use.
It works best as a decorative textile, bag accent, or light styling piece, but may be too small for most adults to wear comfortably or use for wrapping.
For adult wear, wrapping, or furoshiki-style use, we recommend choosing the Medium or Large size, which offer a more balanced and versatile experience.
This bandana can be worn as a neck scarf, used as a small furoshiki for wrapping personal items, or styled as a bag accent.
The larger sizes are especially suited for gift wrapping, everyday carrying, and expressive furoshiki use, while smaller sizes work well for decorative or styling purposes.
S — 44 × 44 cm
Compact / Accent / Styling Use
Designed for small-scale styling rather than practical wrapping.
Ideal for bag accents, decorative use, or subtle textile details.
This size is not recommended for adult wear.
M — 54 × 54 cm
Versatile & Everyday Use
A balanced size suitable for both wearing and light wrapping.
Works well as a bandana or neck scarf, and can also be used as a small furoshiki for personal items.
This is the most versatile option for everyday use.
L — 64 × 64 cm
Wrapping & Furoshiki Use
Designed with wrapping in mind.
Ideal for gifts, larger personal items, or expressive furoshiki-style use.
The larger surface allows the shibori-inspired pattern to be appreciated more fully.
Color Philosophy
The colors in this series are inspired by traditional Japanese plant-based dyes and natural pigments.
Rather than aiming for bold or perfectly uniform tones, each color is intentionally muted to reflect the softness, irregularity, and depth found in hand-dyed shibori textiles.
These calm, earthy hues are designed to work in harmony with the pattern, allowing the fabric to feel timeless, versatile, and quietly expressive.
Design Philosophy
This pattern is not a direct reproduction of traditional shibori, but a contemporary interpretation of its underlying structure.
By studying the marks left by folding, binding, and resisting dye, the design translates these gestures into a drifting, irregular composition.
The result is a textile that preserves the quiet rhythm and softness of shibori while existing as a modern printed fabric.
About Kakishibu color
Kakishibu is inspired by persimmon tannin dye, long used in Japanese folk textiles.
Its warm, earthy brown brings out the organic irregularity of the shibori motif.
A grounded colorway that adds depth and character to everyday styling.
