Product description
Tenugui is a traditional Japanese cotton cloth, originally used as a hand towel.
Lightweight and quick-drying, it is widely used in everyday life in Japan.
Tenugui can be used as:
-
hand towels or handkerchiefs
-
bandanas or head wraps
-
gift wrapping or item wrapping
-
table runners or placemats
-
cleaning cloths or body towels
The fabric is thin, flexible, and ready to use immediately.
Both ends are left unfinished (cut ends).
This traditional feature allows the fabric to dry quickly, remain hygienic,
and suit Japan’s hot and humid climate.
Any initial fraying will naturally stop with use.
Care notes
-
Colours may fade or transfer due to the dyeing process, especially when wet or with friction.
-
Wash separately for the first few washes.
-
Do not use bleach or tumble dryers.
-
Fraying may occur after washing but will stop naturally at approx. 5 mm.
